Over 300 people attended our 2012 Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday night, March 3. US Congressman Cory Gardner (R. Yuma), with Elbert County Chairman Scott Wills, in photo at top right and with son Thatcher and Ron and Nancy Turner photo lower left, was the keynote speaker. Elbert County Republican Denise Reeves, photo lower right with Chairman Wills and former US Congrressman Bob Beauprez, was recgnized as the 2011 Elbert County Republican of The Year.

Elizabeth Youth Welcomes Presidential Candidate to Colorado, Carl Healy, a junior engineering major at the Colorado School of Mines (CSM), was one of the student leaders who welcomed Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum to the CSM campus on February 6. CSM hosted an Energy Summit and Mr. Santorum was a guest speaker. Carl, the son of David and Diane Healy of Gold Creek Drive, Elizabeth, is a 2009 graduate of Legacy Academy and the President of the CSM College Republicans. Carl is shown above, fifth from the left. Colorado GOP Chairman Issues Statement on Legislative Reapportionment (11/15/2011) GREENWOOD VILLAGE -In response to this afternoon’s ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court, Ryan Call, the Chairman of the Colorado Republican Party issued the following statement: “The State Supreme Court’s decision today validates what Colorado Republicans have been arguing all along - that the Reapportionment Commission must first look to keeping counties boundaries whole before looking to non-constitutional criteria in drawing district boundaries.” “Colorado Republicans agree with the Colorado Supreme Court that a measure of a district’s so-called 'competitiveness' and other non-constitutional factors should only be considered after all other constitutional criteria of respecting counties and city boundaries have first been fully met.
